This two (2) day course covers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to successfully lead with emotional intelligence (EI). To be highly effective, a leader must be able to reinvigorate the workplace and engage others to achieve higher results.

This course contains the latest theories on emotional intelligence together with references and many practical exercises, tools and graphs to assist leaders to develop a value-added, service-oriented organisation.

Day One

Develop an understanding of emotional intelligence (EI)

  • A philosophical view of society, morality and leadership.
  • The evolution of EI.
  • Importance of EI competencies.

Critically analyse why emotional intelligence (EI) is considered to be equally important as intelligence quotient (IQ)

  • Manage results in a diverse workplace and a global market.
  • Establish trust and use positive energy to bridge differences.
  • Enhance relationships in the workplace and build more effective teams.
  • Activities throughout the module.

Make the most of emotional intelligence (EI) in the workplace

  • Develop self-awareness by recognising own feelings and accurately make self-assessment.
  • Develop behaviours to achieve self-management.
  • Develop empathy to enhance social and organisational awareness.
  • Relationship management, building teams and communication successes.
  • Activities throughout the module.

Day Two

Enhance personal competence and social competence

  • Promote resiliency and gain the power of self-regulating.
  • Foster a situational leadership style in the workplace.
  • Develop clear practical tools to deal with diversity.
  • Implement a checklist to deal with personal biases.
  • Develop an action plan to build rapport and increase alignment.
