This two (2) day course covers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to successfully manage performance in an organisation.

The course provides insights into contemporary performance management theories and a practical approach to appraise performance to achieve organisational goals.

  5. The learning contract - intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
  6. Tips for supportive communication.
  7. Planning and leading performance reviews.
  8. Rewards and recognition strategies - monetary and non-monetary.

Delivery Strategy

Day One

Develop KPIs into integrated Performance Management System (PMS)

  • Discuss Critical Success Factors (CSF) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Align KPIs to Performance Management System (PMS).
  • Activities throughout the module.

The performance management cycle

  • Inform KPIs and set expectations.
  • Encourage learning and high performance through self-motivation and empowerment.
  • Activities throughout the module

Day Two

Monitor and review performance based on agreed standards

  • Identify performance monitoring tools and processes.
  • Gap analysis tools.
  • Dealing with personal biases.
  • Activities throughout the module

Appraise individual performance

  • Prepare and conduct the appraisal discussion.
  • Reward performance and align to succession plan.
  • Deal with underperformance.
  • Activities throughout the module.
