Course Objectives

This one (1) day course is designed to introduce participants to a variety of office equipment and provide them with the skills and knowledge needed to use them effectively in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Understand the role and importance of office equipment
  2. Understand the individual functions of a variety of office equipment
  3. Effectively use a photocopier, replace the cartridges and deal with paper jams
  4. Use a scanner efficiently
  5. Understand the fundamentals of faxes and know when and how to use a fax machine
  6. Operate a shredder and know what documents to shred and when
  7. Set up a projector and use it efficiently
  8. Connect a printer to a computer, change cartridges and use it effectively
  9. Connect a wireless mouse to a computer
  10. Effectively maintain office equipment
  11. Order equipment supplies within organisational budgets
  12. Monitor office equipment and communicate with suppliers and technicians to ensure safe and effective equipment operations
  13. Maintain equipment records
