Monitor a Safe Workplace

Course Objectives

This two (2) day course provides participants with the performance outcomes, knowledge and skills to monitor work health and safety (WHS). Establishing safe work practices, training a team in safety procedures and monitoring their participation, will promote a culture of wellness in the workplace.

Participants will learn that safety is paramount to business success and that a healthy workplace means a happy and productive one.

Delivery Strategy

This two (2) day course has been designed by our senior trainers who combine industry experience with academic excellence.

Our program design and delivery is based on adult learning principles and experiential learning.

Participants will also receive a state-of-the-art student manual with all reference material, PowerPoint presentations and activities.

Program Outline

Day One

Present information in the workplace about health and safety

  • Guide team in workplace health and safety issues.
  • Ensure team can identify healthy and safe practices.
  • Communicate information regarding policies and procedures.
  • Explain risk management strategies for safe workplaces.

Implement effective consultation processes

  • Provide consultation with appropriate workplace parties.
  • Apply consultation procedures to facilitate participation.
  • Deal with issues raised through consultation.
  • Record and communicate to all affected parties.
  • Activities throughout the day.

Day Two

Monitor arrangements for the training of WHS

  • Identify training needs for health and safety compliance.
  • Provide ongoing learning opportunities to meet training needs.
  • Identify and report on costs.

Monitor risks in accordance with organisational procedures

  • Identify and report on hazards in workplace.
  • Promptly action hazard reports.
  • Implement procedures to control risks using the hierarchy of control.
  • Maintain WHS records according to the organisational policies and procedures.
  • Activities throughout the day.
