Last chance to complete your Change Management certification and become a Change Management Practitioner. The current course syllabus has been updated, however, this current qualification remains valid for another 5 years. Exams must be completed by 20th September 2024.

If students elect to wait for the updated course (Version 3), they will be required to would need to recomplete the new Foundation Exam before attempting the Practitioner Exam.

Course Overview

APMG’s Change Management Foundation Course is quite possibly the most value packed, change management short course in the world! It provides an internationally recognised Change Management Certification. It is fully aligned with the Change Management Institute’s (CMI) Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

The foundation course uses the Effective Change Managers Handbook as its basis. It enables a candidate to gain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of change management to work on organisational change initiatives. The Foundation Certification is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner Certification.

APMG’s Change Management Practitioner course provides an internationally recognised Change Management certification. It is fully aligned with the Change Management Institute’s (CMI) change management body of knowledge.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific pre-requisites for foundation. Some appreciation of the ideas and principles of services may be useful to provide context.

To undertake the practitioner exam, you must have successfully undertaken the foundation course achieving a pass of 50% or more. It is also recommended that you start to pre-read the Effective Change Manager’s Handbook.

This five day course blends theory with practical activities to aid learning and includes the practitioner level examination.

Learning Outcomes

In the Foundation course:

  • How the process of organizational change or transformation occurs
  • The roles needed to assemble teams most likely to achieve successful organizational change
  • How people react to organizational change and how to help them adapt
  • Developing strategies to keep people motivated while an organization undergoes change
  • The different types of change process e.g. planned and emergent change.

In the Practitioner course:

  • Applying appropriate process frameworks to optimally plan and understand organizational change
  • A range of organization paradigms with which to understand, support and sustain organizational change processes
  • How to properly prepare for an organizational change initiative
  • How to be motivational in ways that’s empathetic towards peoples’ roles and personalities.
  • How to establish a clear framework of roles, skills and activities through which leaders can support and sustain the change process.

 

Exam Format

Foundation Course

  • Closed book – multiple choice
  • 40 minutes duration
  • Pass mark = 25 out of 50 (50%)

Practitioner Course

  • Objective testing based on a case study scenario (restricted open book)
  • 2 hours 30 minutes duration
  • Pass mark = 40 out of 80 (50%)

 

Requirements to Receive the Certification

Successful completion of the exam will enable students to receive their certificate direct from APMG.
