  • Discuss critical success factors (CSF) and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Align KPIs to Performance Management System (PMS).
  • Translate KPIs into performance standards and explain the formula.
  • Use measures for performance standards.

The management role in the performance management cycle

  • Inform employees of KPIs and set expectations.
  • How to negotiate a learning contract based on KPIs.
  • How to provide effective feedback utilising situational leadership.
  • Encourage learning and high performance through self-motivation and empowerment.

Day Two

Monitor and review performance based on agreed standards

  • Identify monitoring performance tools and processes.
  • Empower people to self-monitor and analyse performance.
  • Gap analysis tool and stages of coaching.
  • Deal with personal biases.

Appraise Individual performance

  • Prepare for the appraisal discussion.
  • Conduct the appraisal and celebrate winning.
  • Reward performance and align to succession plan.
