Course Overview

APMG’s Change Management Practitioner course provides an internationally recognised Change Management certification. It is fully aligned with the Change Management Institute’s (CMI) Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).

The Practitioner course provides students with the knowledge and skills to implement change effectively. Following on from the Foundation course (which is a prerequisite), it is beneficial for those who lead, manage or contribute to the facilitation of change within an organisation.

This two (2) day course blends theory with practical activities to aid learning and includes the Practitioner level examination.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the key principles to be learnt by all involved in a change initiative
  • Appreciate the 'project' environment in which change is governed and delivered, and change managed
  • Learn about the organisational 'levers', adoption approaches and reinforcing systems typically used to sustain change, so that it becomes embedded in an organisation.

Prerequisites

To undertake the Practitioner exam, the candidate must have successfully undertaken the Foundation course achieving a pass of 50% or more. It is also recommended that the candidate start to pre-read the Effective Change Manager's Handbook.

Delivery Strategy

The course has been structured to be delivered over two (2) interactive days and will be led by our experienced trainers. Participants will receive a student workbook that includes a series of theories and models, accompanying information, additional reading, written activities, reflective tasks and PowerPoint slides.

Exam Format

The Foundation exam is a 2.5 hour restricted open-book, exam. It is objective testing based on a case study scenario. At least 40 marks out of 80 are required to pass (50%).

Note: Homework and evening study are highly recommended to prepare for the exam.

Institute of Management is an APMG-International Accredited Training Organisation and will conduct the exam on behalf of APMG.
